Like a match made in heaven, the High Lonesome wouldn't be what it is without Laws Whiskey House's endless and amazing support. Laws distills Colorado's finest whiskey with the mantra "Craft over commodity. Quality over quantity. Whiskey above all." This outstanding quality shows not only in their whiskey, but also in their people. If you haven't had a glass of Laws, then you're missing out.

As most of you know, Laws provides each runner with a custom engraved bottle of their flagship whiskey. Beyond that Laws comes out to the finish line and slings cocktails, they host our annual kick off party, donate swag, and support us in a host of other ways.

Laws has been with the High Lonesome since before the race had a name, a final course, or a website. Their steadfast and unlimited support can never be repaid, and we're beyond grateful to have them with us.

Elevation Beer Company

Brewed in the charming and rural mountain town of Poncha Springs, at the base of the Sawatch, Elevation Brewing’s driving force is creating quality beer. With a diverse and award winning tap list, you can find the perfect beer to fit your adventure. Even better, Elevation believes in inspiring positive impact on the world we share, one pint at a time. They tirelessly support the outdoor community and conservation work in “the Valley” and are loved by locals and visitors alike.

One of the best things about Elevation is their diverse tap list. Tired of showing up to a brewery that serves IPAs and basically nothing else? Fear not, Elevation has almost two dozen beers of all different types. Think lagers, kolschs, browns, porters, stouts, IPA’s, barrel aged, imperials, quads, sours…even cask aged beers and hard seltzers! Add in a delicious food truck, a cozy taproom, and fantastic bartenders and you’ve got yourself a fantastic set up.

Be sure to stop by the tap room, or our finish line, for delicious beer! We’ll be slinging their beer (for free!) at the finish line!

7000 Feet Running Company

No mountain town is complete without a local specialty running store, so when 7000 Feet opened its doors in early 2017 we were thrilled. A great store with even greater people, 7000 Feet has everything a runner needs. Locals can give you the beta on good trails and conditions, whilst providing you with the gear you'll need. They carry a huge selection of shoes (including Altra!) as well as other High Lonesome favorites, like 2Toms, Tailwind, and Rabbit.

Andrew (the owner) has been a huge help to the race and is our HQ Director. What does an HQ Director do? Well he sets up, manages, and holds down the entire start/finish line during race week! It’s a huge job, but Andrew makes it look easy. Besides supporting the race, Andrew is a community leader in Salida and works tirelessly to support working-class families by pay livable wages, providing benefits, and stable working environments. When you spend money at 7000 Feet, you’re not just supporting a local business (which is great in and of itself), you’re also supporting local families. It means you can get the gear you need while helping support the wonderful people in the Arkansas River Valley.

Rocky Talkie

Founded and based in Colorado by avid adventures, Rocky Talkie builds rugged radios designed specifically for adventure sports. With two different models available, you can find the radio for the task. With both models having a battery life of four+ days, and either water resistant or fully waterproof, you can rely on them when the going gets tough. Plus, Rocky Talkie donates $2 per radio to search and rescue teams. Like good communication, these volunteer teams save lives and provide critical peace of mind in the backcountry. We’re stoked to be using both the Mountain Radio and the 5 Watt Radio at the race to help communicate throughout the race.

Non-profit partner: Colorado Fourteeners Initiative

Colorado has almost 60 peaks rising above 14,000 feet, and are the gems of our amazing state. But their popularity means that many of these mountains are being loved to death. Old trails are eroding, social trails are being cut into fragile alpine ecosystems, and overcrowding is leaving them covered in trash and human waste. So, it's a good thing that we have the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative to be leading the charge to maintain and improve these mountains. CFI is the leader in new trail construction, and they work tirelessly to protect these areas. We work with CFI in a variety of ways, from trail work days to donating the proceeds from our trail work opt out fund. We really can't stress enough how important of a cause this is, and your support is needed and appreciated.

Non-profit partner: Continental Divide Trail Coalition

Traversing the spine of North America, the CDT is the greatest long distance trail in the country. The CDTC is a phenomenal organization that is tasked with protecting the 3000+ miles of the the trail. They are also leading the trail nonprofit world in diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and initiatives. And on top of all that, they are primarily responsible for building and maintaining the best sections of the High Lonesome 100. Since 2017, we have been able to continue building our relationship with the CDTC and are excited to continue our fundraising and stewardship work with them.
